Vienna Teng wins hands-down. For everything. 
Other singers/groups (Japanese): almost anything by Yuki Kajiura (her early See-Saw stuff is kind of blah), Rie fu, Angela Aki, Utada Hikaru, Chihiro Onitsuka, Mika Nakashima, ayaka, KOKIA, Kanon, Lyrico, JYONGRI etc. Uhh english ones: Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Mandy Moore (not her first album or half of her second album though. Yuck.), etc. B
‘Say Yeah!’ (Morning Musume) was the first Japanese song I ever heard in 2002.
